About The Position

The Trauma Registrar position at Texas Health Dallas is responsible for analyzing medical records daily to determine trauma registry eligibility, maintaining and organizing trauma registry data for coding and abstraction, and performing queries and generating reports from the trauma registry database. This role involves collecting patient care data, reporting significant findings to Trauma Program leadership, and monitoring trauma patient records for quality improvement indicators. The registrar will also integrate ACS guidelines into trauma patient care processes and support the coordination of care across various phases of injury management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • One year experience with chart auditing, quality improvement, data entry required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred.
  • One year experience with Medical Records preferred.
  • ICD-10 coding experience preferred.
  • RHIT certification preferred.
