About The Position

The Central Sterilization Transporter supports central sterilization operations at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. The central sterilization facility processes, secures, and transports equipment and instruments used in patient care across the dental school clinics, which serve more than 600 patients per day. The role helps ensure adequate inventory is available in clinic dispensaries and contributes to smooth clinic operations and a positive experience for patients, students, and staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to push and pull case carts.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, stay organized, and plan ahead for upcoming events.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, email communication, and password management.
• Team-oriented, self-starting approach, with good judgment and maturity.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of dental instrumentation.
• CRCST (Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician) IAHCSMM certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and package instruments.
• Load and unload the autoclave.
• Transport and secure instruments in accordance with instrument tracking system protocols.
• Service dispensaries throughout the building and maintain adequate inventory.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
