About The Position

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Transporter performs duties that may include escorting and transporting patients within the hospital. The role also delivers specimens, patient charts, and other patient-related materials to specified departments or other hospital areas.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write, follow written and oral instructions, and perform general clerical functions related to the job.
• No previous related experience required; one to four weeks of on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients by stretcher, wheelchair, or bed for treatment, testing, admitting, discharge, and intra-hospital transfers.
• Deliver requested specimens, patient charts, and other patient-related materials to specified departments or other hospital areas.
