About The Position

The Transporter works in the Imaging department at Prime Healthcare–Saint Joseph Medical Center. The position transports patients to and from the department and performs related support tasks, including darkroom duties, ordering and stocking supplies, dressing patients, and front-office work. The role also provides clerical support, such as answering phones, greeting patients, preparing outpatient requisitions, filing patient reports, and retrieving records for physicians or medical records. The Transporter uses a telephone, computer, office equipment, and PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System), and runs errands throughout the facility. The role requires familiarity with usual terminology for tests ordered in the department and polite, friendly communication with patients and visitors.

Requirements

Must have BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current certification throughout employment.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Transportation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Transport patients to and from the department.
Perform darkroom duties.
