About The Position

The Transporter works in the Medical Transport department at Resurrection Medical Center and transports patients to and from the department. Additional duties may include darkroom work, ordering and stocking supplies, dressing patients, and front-office tasks. The role also provides clerical support, including answering phones, greeting patients and visitors, preparing outpatient requisitions, filing patient reports, and retrieving patient records for physicians or Medical Records. The Transporter uses telephones, computers, office equipment, and PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System), and runs errands throughout the facility. The role requires familiarity with the usual terminology of tests ordered in the department and courteous, effective telephone and in-person communication.

Requirements

Must have BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current certification throughout employment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrate adequate knowledge of the usual terminology of tests ordered in the department.
Demonstrate good telephone etiquette and greet patients and visitors in a polite and friendly manner.

Transportation experience preferred.
