Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is a 100% employee-owned consulting firm with more than 2,800 professionals, providing multidisciplinary engineering, architecture, information technology, and related services to public agencies and private clients throughout the United States. JMT is seeking a Transportation Technician I for its Construction Management Team in North Carolina. The position applies standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction to assess quality, safety, and conformance to plans and specifications. Statewide opportunities are available, with multiple North Carolina locations that may be discussed with the hiring manager during an interview. Immigration sponsorship or support, including H-1B and F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT, is unavailable except for qualified candidates eligible for TN visa classification.
Requirements
- Successfully complete and pass JMT’s Motor Vehicle screening.
Responsibilities
- Inspect contractor operations on transportation projects, including roadway and bridge construction, to verify conformance to plans and specifications.
- Perform routine material testing.
- Measure and track quantities of pay items.
- Gather and maintain record documents, including material certifications, testing reports, and inspectors’ daily diaries.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
