About The Position

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT), a 100% employee-owned consulting firm with more than 2,800 professionals, is hiring a Transportation Technician I for its Construction Management Team. The role applies standard inspection procedures to ongoing transportation construction activities in North Carolina, during and after construction, to assess quality, safety, and conformance to plans and specifications. Statewide opportunities are available, with multiple North Carolina locations that can be discussed with the hiring manager during an interview. Immigration sponsorship or support is unavailable except for qualified candidates eligible for TN visa classification.

Requirements

• Successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.

Responsibilities

• Inspect contractor operations on roadway and bridge construction projects to verify conformance to plans and specifications.
• Perform routine material testing.
• Measure and track quantities of pay items.
• Gather and maintain record documents, including material certifications, testing reports, and inspectors’ daily diaries.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
