About The Position

The Transportation Supervisor oversees the day-to-day delivery operation to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective product delivery. The role supervises driver safety and training, assigns drivers and equipment, manages routing and compliance, and communicates proactively with internal staff and customers about route changes, delays, and early deliveries. The position also oversees the backhaul program and ensures related availability changes are communicated to Inventory Management. The work may involve both office/store environments and outdoor weather conditions, and may require driving between stores as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of previous transportation or distribution experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong supervisory skills to develop driver and support staff performance standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to carry 20 pounds and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently able to stand, climb, bend, and walk.
• May need to drive between stores as assigned.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree preferred.
• XATA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day routing to maximize efficiency and customer service.
• Communicate proactively with internal and external contacts regarding route changes, delays, and early deliveries.
• Supervise drivers and ensure they are properly trained.
• Ensure driver logs are complete and accurate.
• Ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA rules and regulations.
• Supervise DOT compliance using Driver Management Compliance software.
• Provide corrective coaching to drivers and transportation support staff.
• Supervise the backhaul program and ensure Inventory Management is updated about changes in backhaul availability.
• Ensure drivers accurately complete all company-required documentation.
• Complete other duties and special projects as required.
• Maintain good attendance and safe work practices.
• Safeguard confidential company information.
