About The Position

Aliceville Manor Nursing Home is seeking a reliable and compassionate Transportation Specialist to provide safe and efficient transportation for residents. The role involves driving the company van and helping residents travel to medical appointments and other scheduled activities comfortably, safely, and on time. The Transportation Specialist coordinates with nursing and administrative teams, keeps the vehicle in good working condition, and follows established emergency protocols. The position is full-time. Applicants may be subject to background checks, and candidates receiving a conditional offer may be required to undergo drug screening.

Requirements

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to assist residents with mobility needs.
Compassionate and patient demeanor.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

Drive the company van to transport residents to and from medical appointments and other scheduled activities, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Help residents get into and out of the vehicle and provide physical assistance as needed.
Follow traffic laws and regulations and maintain safe driving practices.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the company van and report issues to the maintenance team.
Coordinate transportation schedules with nursing and administrative teams to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
Respond to emergencies during transportation by following established protocols and protecting residents’ safety and well-being.
