A Transportation Router fields incoming calls from drivers and customer service, gathers and records delivery time information and delivery status for selected accounts, and routes orders for next-day deliveries. The role also assists with other functions required by the transportation department. The router administers and maintains the routing system using RoadNet, sets up new accounts in the system, prints and sorts pick tickets for distribution to shippers, performs dispatching functions, and reconciles driver manifests. The position independently makes decisions about routing orders and trucks; work is regularly reviewed by a supervisor and manager.
