Transportation Planning Intern - Summer 2027
About The Position
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Transportation Planning Intern, interested in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), to join our Atlanta, Georgia office. Your role will involve assisting with or preparing screening assessments with supervision, creating graphics, maps, spreadsheets, databases, or tables for technical report preparation, and participating in project site assessment activities, including pre and post field work, site assessment, and data processing. You will also assist with public engagement activities, which may include using social media for research or promotion, communicating with the public and special interest groups, and creating informative materials.
Requirements
- Completed 60 hours towards a bachelor’s degree in planning, or a related degree from an accredited college/university by the start of the internship (Summer 2027)
- Ability to work in outdoor project sites and drive
- Basic understanding of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ArcPro GIS, etc.
- Ability to organize files
- Use standard business writing to contribute to technical report production
- Experience reading a map and/or construction plans

- Experience analyzing census data and/or identifying ecological resources
