About The Position

VHB’s Charlotte, North Carolina office is seeking a Transportation Intern for Summer 2027. The intern will assist with transportation engineering calculations, analysis, and report preparation; compile and analyze annual traffic counts for various counties; review traffic reports for state and local counties; and use software including Synchro, MicroStation, and ArcGIS Pro. The role is intended for someone currently pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in engineering. VHB does not provide housing for internships.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in engineering.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, with attention to detail.
• Team-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering calculations, analysis, and report preparation.
