About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Transportation Planning Intern to join our Atlanta, Georgia office. This role involves assisting with traffic forecasting, operations, and crash assessments under supervision. The intern will create graphics, maps, spreadsheets, databases, or tables to support technical report preparation. Responsibilities also include participating in project site assessment activities, pre and post field work, site assessment, and data processing. The intern will utilize software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ArcPro GIS, and SYNCHRO, organize files, and use standard business writing for technical report production. Additionally, the intern will assist with public engagement activities, which may involve using social media for research or promotion, speaking to groups, communicating with the public and special interest groups, and creating informative materials.

Requirements

  • Must have completed 90 hours towards a Civil Engineering, City and Regional Planning, Environmental Engineering, or other related degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
  • Applicant should have experience reading a map and/or construction plans.

Nice To Haves

  • No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
  • Experience with traffic operational analysis is desired but not required.
