About The Position

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Transportation Planner with 2+ years of experience to join their Tallahassee, Florida (FL) office. This role involves contributing to the production and delivery of multi-modal transportation systems planning, including data collection, analysis, and technical reporting. Tasks and projects may include multi-modal corridor concept development, bicycle and pedestrian analysis and improvement concept development, multi-modal transportation analyses and design, transit operations planning and design, and community outreach. The position supports all steps of a transportation planning project, from initial data gathering and needs identification to goals setting, visioning, development of recommended strategies and design concepts, prioritization, cost estimating, and the development of technical and public-facing documentation and presentations. Project experiences will be diverse, serving both public and private sectors. The role involves performing a variety of tasks, supporting various project managers, and collaborating with team members.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a related field
  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in a relevant field such as urban planning, transportation planning, or similar
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to write and communicate findings clearly
  • Demonstrated experience in oral presentations and public speaking
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Working knowledge of ESRI ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and/or StoryMap
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • High attention to detail
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team

Responsibilities
