This recruitment series is to fill one open position within the Transportation Division. To be considered qualified, an applicant must meet the minimum requirements for one of the following three levels of the Transportation Operations Utility Worker positions: Transportation Operations Utility Worker I (Grade 9), Transportation Operations Utility Worker II (Grade 11), or Transportation Operations Utility Worker III (Grade 13). With daily supervision from qualified personnel, the role involves assisting with tasks to maintain streets, alleys, rights-of-way, and storm drain facilities within Redmond. This includes operating motor vehicles regularly for various work-related purposes, performing snow and ice control, installing and maintaining street signs, performing work zone traffic control, repairing asphalt, maintaining aggregate roads and alleys, operating street sweepers, performing street painting, maintaining rights-of-way, and repairing concrete. The position also involves crack sealing, adhering to city policies and safety procedures, and performing other assigned duties within the Transportation Operations Division and/or the Public Works Department. Key skills include understanding and carrying out instructions, working independently or as part of a crew, and establishing effective working relationships.
