The Transportation Manager handles the Alberici on-road fleet and drayage needs for the Corporation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and 5 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receives orders for consumables, tools and equipment from projects.
  • Compiles and maintains a list of fleet availability.
  • Dispatches teamsters and verifies job numbers, pay items and cost codes for all drayage requests.
  • Establishes and reinforces a safe work procedures and environment.
  • Assigns vehicles according to factors such as length, purpose of trip and freight requirements.
  • Issues keys, record sheets and credentials to drivers.
  • Records time of departure, destination, cargo and expected time of return.
  • Acquires and issues city, state and federal permits as required.
  • Investigates overdue vehicles.
  • Works closely with Hillsdale Fabricators to meet transportation needs.
  • Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed or damaged merchandise.
  • Issues equipment to drivers such as hand trucks and dollies.
  • Responsible for the fuel island, including: DNR documentation, Testing and maintenance, Tank monitoring, Insurance fund, annually, Fuel purchase requests, All required documentation and reporting in relation to the fuel island.
  • Administers and ensures the compliance of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations.
  • Administers and ensures the compliance of International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) regulations, and submit reports in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for applications and annual registrations of International Registration Plan (IRP – apportioned) plates, and submit reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensures all state and federal vehicle and equipment registrations, licenses and taxes are properly and punctually up to date.
  • Assists in the management of fleet ownership costs, operating costs, rental rates, performance and economic life.
  • Assists in the establishment of procedures, policies and new technologies to maximize the return on fleet utilization and productivity.
  • Assists in the purchase and sales of the fleet.
  • Transfers equipment to and from projects; issues daily transfer report.
  • Monitors and reviews the financial status of the EWM department transportation segment, and assists in quarterly and annual budget projections.
  • Reviews, verifies, and approves teamsters time sheets.
  • Approves and processes transportation invoices.
  • Issues and maintains fleet fuel and maintenance cards.
  • Maintains documentation of equipment disposals.
  • Travels to Company and subsidiary offices; offsite client, subcontractor, and supplier meetings; and other locations across North America to fulfill the essential duties of the role as required.
  • Exhibits regular and reliable attendance in person as required by the Supervisor, Company guidelines, and/or project and office obligations.
  • Supervises ACI teamsters.
