Transportation Load Planning Analyst
About The Position
The Transportation Load Planning Analyst supports execution of the transportation network by planning and scheduling inbound and outbound deliveries. The role provides routine planning and issue-resolution support for an assigned network, helps meet customer performance expectations, and communicates with transportation providers and internal and external contacts. The analyst also coordinates customer delivery appointments through customer scheduling systems, follows organizational transportation, safety, and quality procedures, and assists with departmental improvement and efficiency projects. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or a high school diploma and at least 4 years of transportation operations experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn and use software, including TMS and scheduling systems.
- Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of transportation operations experience.
- TMS and SAP experience.
- Experience with Oracle TMS solutions.
- Ability to frame opportunities clearly, concisely, and logically.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot issues, solve problems, and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and routine issue resolution for transportation operations in the assigned network, including meeting customer performance expectations.
- Assist with load planning and routing for plants using the Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Support internal and external email communications.
- Provide backup support for the load planning team as needed.
- Assist with departmental improvement and efficiency projects as needed.
- Communicate with transportation providers effectively and promptly.
- Coordinate customer delivery appointments using customer scheduling systems; accurately schedule, update, and maintain delivery information according to established processes.
- Follow organizational policies, procedures, and transportation best practices to support compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Perform assignments and job tasks according to safety policies and procedures.
- Support product quality and value by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices and policies and procedures in the Safe Quality Food Program.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
