About The Position
Our experienced, fast-paced North Little Rock Bridge Team is seeking a civil engineering student for an internship. This intern will be mentored by our dynamic team and exposed to many aspects of bridge design, bridge rehabilitation and replacement, and inspection for a variety of projects.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program
- Strong interest in pursuing civil engineering in the aviation industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
Responsibilities
- Further develop skills learned in the classroom by participating in the design of steel and reinforced concrete structures
- Become familiar with AASHTO LRFD and other standards used in bridge design
- Be an active member in developing plans for all components of bridges (layouts, substructures, superstructures), typically in Bentley’s MicroStation
- Visit the site of a bridge being actively constructed to strengthen understanding of what is detailed in plans
