About The Position

Our experienced Oklahoma City Municipal Transportation Team is seeking a civil engineering student to join our team to gain knowledge and real-world experience as a Transportation Municipal Intern. The intern will actively participate in plan preparation and design by working alongside our dynamic team and being exposed to many aspects of transportation engineering including roadway, intersection (including roundabout), maintenance of traffic, and drainage designs. The intern will become familiar with industry standards for municipal roadway design and plan preparation. The intern will learn and utilize industry-related design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil3D, Inroads/OpenRoads, and CulvertMaster/FlowMaster. The intern will visit active construction sites to gain knowledge of construction methods and observe construction management practices. The successful candidate will be a strong team player with a commitment to becoming a key member of this highly productive design team. Garver offers an immersive hands-on intern development program called the Garver Launch Program. Through this program, interns will engage daily with fellow Garver Launch interns and industry professionals to build their network, participate in Garver's acclaimed wellness program, give back to the community through volunteer activities as part of Garver Gives, and enhance professional growth by collaborating with Garver's Learning and Development team.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in transportation engineering
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliable and responsible individual
