About The Position

Under general supervision, establishes and coordinates the assignment, scheduling and routing of all transportation vehicles; maintains a variety of department records; performs a wide variety of specialized and analytical duties related to the safe and efficient operation of a comprehensive school bus operation. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent and one year of related experience.
  • Two years of school bus transportation or related field.
  • Three years’ experience in record keeping.
  • Good driving record
  • Valid California Class B with a PS Endorsement Driver’s License and a California specials Drivers Certificate, First Aid, a DV H-6 printout is required prior to employment.
  • Must continue to maintain all licenses in good standing.
  • All applicants are required to complete the pre-screen Background Clearance, and Drug Testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Public school district experience desirable.
  • Native American preferable

Responsibilities

  • Plans, schedules and assigns driver personnel for transportation vehicle operations.
  • Coordinates transportation vehicles route and stops for student riders.
  • Arranges for call offs.
  • Dispatches transportation vehicles for trips and other special events.
  • Coordinates use of district vehicles.
  • Supplies general information to the public and other concerned parties regarding departments policies, and procedures.
  • Communicates with appropriate individual regarding problems concerning transportation.
  • Assists director in resolving public concerns.
  • Inputs data and information to records, cards, and files requiring great accuracy.
  • Update transportation databases.
  • Maintains daily vehicle reports.
  • Operates two-way radio office equipment.
  • Drives a bus when necessary.
