About The Position

The individual in this position is assigned to a variety of clerical and logistics duties associated with transportation. This is a FULL-TIME position that works on average 35-40 hours a week. Days and hours of work will be based on the current work load for Monday through Friday, depending on the time of year.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • The ability to read and write English, and the ability to comprehend written instructions and record information.
  • The capacity to work in a team with intermittent supervision.
  • The ability to work respectfully and courteously with a wide variety of individuals.

Nice To Haves

  • Two to Five years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a closely related field may be substituted for academic credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, direct calls, and provide information for consumers and vendors associated with Pioneer Resources transportation services; record and schedule special requests for transportation and convey accurate information concerning transportation routes, times, rates, or changes.
  • Phone and/or radio support for drivers; monitor the base and respond to requests for information and assistance.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of agency filing systems, including vehicle records and perform various data entry and filing tasks.
  • Use a variety of office machines as required; this includes copier, fax, scanner, and others.
  • Perform word processing and data entry and print tasks using a computer; create, print, and distribute route attendance/manifest; enter mileage/ridership into RouteMatch or spreadsheets; and print reports.
  • Learn and operate a computerized routing system – RouteMatch and Routefinder (if working headstart contract). Assist with updates of routes for various users of the agencies services which includes mental health agencies, school districts and others.
  • Review paperwork/manifests completed by drivers for accuracy and report deficiencies to the supervisor.
  • Work cooperatively with the Finance Department regarding information required for billing.
  • Perform other transportation duties as assigned by the Transportation supervisor, Director of Transportation, or Fleet Manager.
