About The Position

Cardinal Health is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to join their Operations team. This role is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing, and the customer. The Transportation Coordinator will manage transportation assets and systems to improve service, cost efficiency, and process optimization. This position is part of the Operations function, which handles materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment, including warehousing, fulfillment, transportation, inventory management, and planning.

Requirements

Efficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Excel)
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and follow-up skills

Nice To Haves

2 years of transportation experience
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
Prior experience working with Warehouse Management Systems

Responsibilities

Reviews and optimizes customer orders in WMS before releasing orders to warehouse for picking, considering order weight, cube, and transportation route density.
Works with Transportation Consultants and Carriers to confirm routes, driver availability, their hours of service, and equipment availability.
Collaborates with the operations team to maintain and confirm customer delivery requirements and any operational needs.
Ensures all rush orders are processed according to standard operating procedure.
Follows up on customer requests.
Drives efficiency and assists in budget accountability, identifying savings opportunities.
