About The Position

The Transportation Coordinator/Driver loads, transports, and unloads patients for medical appointments and activity outings in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. The role requires a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and passenger endorsement. The coordinator/driver conducts vehicle pre-inspections, monitors regular maintenance, provides customer service, and may assist with patient evacuations.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license or valid commercial driver’s license in the current state, as applicable, with a satisfactory driving record per Life Care standards.
Must have a CDL and passenger endorsement.
Read, write, speak, and understand English.
Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures.
Adhere to Life Care’s Code of Conduct.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in health care or geriatrics.

Responsibilities

Safely load, transport, and unload patients for medical appointments and activity outings.
Complete pre-inspections before using the vehicle.
Monitor regular vehicle maintenance, including oil changes and tire rotations.
Assist in the evacuation of patients.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward patients.
Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Follow applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, company policies, and departmental programs and procedures.
Perform competently in areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
Maintain professional working relationships with associates, vendors, and others.
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information.
Attend dependably and regularly.
Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
Complete mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training.
