About The Position

The Transportation Coordinator/Driver loads, transports, and unloads residents for medical appointments and activity outings in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. The position requires a CDL to drive the company bus. The driver completes pre-inspections, monitors regular vehicle maintenance, and helps evacuate patients when needed.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license or valid commercial driver’s license in the current state, as applicable, with a satisfactory driving record per Life Care standards.
A CDL is required to drive the company bus.
Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
Ability to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in health care or geriatrics.

Responsibilities

Safely load, transport, and unload patients.
Complete pre-inspections before using the vehicle.
Monitor regular vehicle maintenance, including oil changes and tire rotations.
Assist in the evacuation of patients.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward patients.
Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant action.
Follow applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, company policies, and department procedures.
Maintain professional working relationships with associates and vendors and protect confidential information.
Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance and communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
Complete mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training.
