Requirements

One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology
An equivalent combination of experience and training
Possession of a valid non- commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Ability to telework part-time (requires securely configured high-speed internet and approved location in Pennsylvania)
Option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown if unable to telework

Responsibilities

Supervise field and materials inspections to verify compliance with construction specifications and quality standards
Examine documentation and project records to ensure procedures and policies are followed
Utilize department platforms and mobile applications to manage project data, approvals and reports
Check construction materials for certification, correct placement, and required testing
Work with contractors, municipalities, and utilities to resolve project issues and maintain progress
Coach, mentor and evaluate inspectors to support skill development and strong performance
