About The Position

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a qualified and experienced Transportation Construction Inspector for highway, bridge, and other infrastructure projects in Southeastern Pennsylvania. This role involves applying standard inspection procedures to ensure construction activities comply with plans, specifications, and codes, primarily for clients like PennDOT, PA Turnpike, and other local agencies. Immigration sponsorship is not available, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Requirements

• Experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector.
• Ability to review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods.
• Proficiency in measuring dimensions and verifying level, alignment, and elevation.
• Skill in making field notes and computations.
• Experience gathering, reviewing, and maintaining project records.
• Familiarity with PennDOT ECMS and other relevant systems.
• Ability to witness routine sampling and tests on materials.
• Eligibility for TN visa classification (as immigration sponsorship is otherwise unavailable).

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
• Measure dimensions and verify the level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
• Make field notes and computations.
• Gather, review, and maintain project records using systems like PennDOT ECMS.
• Witness routine sampling and testing of materials such as concrete and soils.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
