About The Position

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is a 100% employee-owned consulting firm with over 2,800 professionals providing engineering, architecture, information technology, and related services. JMT is seeking a qualified and experienced Transportation Construction Inspector for highway, bridge, and other infrastructure projects in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The role involves applying standard inspection procedures to ensure construction activities comply with plans, specifications, and codes for clients like PennDOT and the PA Turnpike. Immigration sponsorship is not available, except for TN visa candidates.

Requirements

• Qualified and experienced Transportation Construction Inspector.
• Experience with highway, bridge, and other infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with inspection procedures for structural quality, general safety, and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes.
• Ability to review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods.
• Ability to measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation.
• Ability to make field notes and computations.
• Experience gathering, reviewing, and maintaining project records.
• Experience using PennDOT ECMS and other systems.
• Experience witnessing routine sampling and tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
• Eligible for TN visa classification (immigration sponsorship not otherwise available).

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
• Make field notes and computations.
• Gather, review, and maintain project records using systems like PennDOT ECMS.
• Witness routine sampling and testing of materials such as concrete and soils.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
