JMT is recognized as a Top 500 Design Firm by Engineering News-Record. The Virginia Construction Management Team at JMT is looking for a Transportation Construction Inspector. This role involves applying standard inspection procedures to ongoing construction activities, both during and after completion, to ensure structural quality, general safety, and adherence to plans, specifications, and codes. Please note that immigration sponsorship is not available for this position, with the exception of candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. The compensation for this role is between $30.00 and $36.00 per hour, determined by experience, education, and certifications. Requirements

Computer Proficiency
Active driver's license
Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening

Responsibilities

Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
Measure dimensions and verify the level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
Gather and maintain record documents.
Make field notes and computations.
