About The Position

The Transportation Carrier Representative works with transportation companies to move available freight within Cargill’s brokerage network. The role manages relationships with a moderately complex carrier portfolio, including prospecting and onboarding, to support efficient, cost-effective, and profitable movement of goods. The position is part of Cargill’s Food Enterprise, which serves food manufacturers, food service customers, and retailers with ingredients and branded products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with relevant teams to support placement of a moderately complex carrier portfolio, standard operating processes, available capacity, and quality services.
• Engage frequently with key carrier contacts to establish relationships.
• Communicate with key carrier contacts about service issues and provide resolution.
• Maintain data and prepare reports in the organization’s operating system to support accurate, timely information and relevant buying decisions.
• Participate in negotiations supporting bids, price and service commitments that fulfill profit goals and service requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities related to carrier opportunities, best practices, industry developments, and events.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision and escalate more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
