About The Position

We are seeking a caring, dependable, and safety-focused Part-Time Bus Attendant to support the safe transportation of students to and from school. Working alongside the bus driver, the Bus Attendant is responsible for supervising students, promoting appropriate behavior, and ensuring students safely board, ride, and exit the bus. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and are committed to creating a safe, positive, and welcoming transportation experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with school-age children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, or youth program
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning or behavioral needs

Responsibilities

  • Supervise students during morning and afternoon bus routes
  • Assist students with boarding, seating, and safely exiting the bus
  • Ensure students follow bus safety rules and remain seated during transport
  • Support students with special needs, as applicable
  • Assist the bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environment
  • Communicate safety concerns or student behavior issues to the driver and school administration
  • Assist with emergency evacuation drills and emergency situations when necessary
  • Build positive relationships with students while promoting respectful behavior
  • Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and transportation personnel
  • Help create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere during daily transportation
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support transportation and school operations.
