Transportation Aide - CNA

About The Position
The Transportation Aide – CNA safely transports residents to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, and scheduled activities while providing attentive care. The role involves monitoring residents’ safety, comfort, and condition during transport; assisting with mobility and transfers; recording vital signs when needed; and supporting CNA duties at the facility when not transporting residents.
Requirements
- Hold a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
- Be at least 25 years old for insurance requirements.
- Hold a current Nursing Assistant Certification in Texas.
- Pass the DMV check and qualify for company insurance.
- Complete the Employee Driver Proficiency program.
- Demonstrate strong communication, patience, and attention to detail.
- Be comfortable with caregiving and safe vehicle operation.
Responsibilities
- Drive residents safely to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, and scheduled activities.
- Monitor residents’ safety and comfort throughout transportation.
- Observe residents for changes in condition during transport and promptly report concerns.
- Assist residents with ambulation and transfers using assistive devices and proper technique.
- Record vital signs when needed during transport.
- Assist with CNA duties in the facility when not transporting residents.
