About The Position

The Transport Services Associate transports patients, medical records, mail, specimens, and equipment or materials throughout the facility. The role also provides information and directions to patients and visitors and helps ensure transportation equipment remains clean and in good working order.

Employees must follow ethical and legal standards, company policies, privacy requirements, and information-security guidelines. The position may involve access to confidential customer information, which must be protected in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to maintain the highest measure of confidentiality.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain working relationships with internal and external departments and customers at all levels.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in customer service.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Transport inpatients and outpatients within the facility from their initial location to their destination.
• Deliver equipment, materials, and specimens to requesting departments, including by using the pneumatic tube system.
• Serve as a hospital ambassador by providing information and directions to patients and visitors.
• Keep transportation equipment clean and in good working order.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
• Protect confidential information and comply with HIPAA, data-security guidelines, the Code of Business Conduct, applicable laws, company policies, and training requirements.
