TRANSPORT AIDE - CENTRAL TRANSPORT - FULL TIME
About The Position
The Transport Aide works within Jefferson Regional’s Central Transportation Department and transports patients in wheelchairs or on stretchers from various areas of the hospital to their ordered locations. The position requires physical stamina, the ability to move patients and equipment, and compassionate, respectful interactions with patients. It is safety-sensitive: employees must remain alert and work safely, as lapses in attention may threaten health or safety. Current use of illegal drugs is prohibited. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There are no weekend shifts or call requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- CPR/BLS required upon hire or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move patients and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to hospital policies.
- Provide excellent customer service through compassionate and respectful patient interactions.
- Current use of illegal drugs is prohibited.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is a plus.
