About The Position

TCI Maintenance is hiring an experienced Transport Refrigeration Technician (Reefer Mechanic) in Converse, Texas. The technician diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs transport refrigeration systems, refrigerated trailers, and refrigeration units. The role includes preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues, repairing or overhauling components, using diagnostic tools and equipment, and documenting service and repairs accurately. The technician follows safety procedures and applicable environmental regulations and works with a team focused on quality repairs and customer satisfaction. The position offers a Monday-through-Friday schedule and pay of $28.51 to $37.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience. The work takes place in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of mechanical or refrigeration experience; 3+ years preferred.
• EPA Section 608 certification, which must remain current.
• Ability to use industry tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to document repairs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with transport refrigeration systems, including Thermo King or Carrier Transicold.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical training.
• ASE certifications.
• CDL with air brake qualifications, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities
