Transport Driver - Solid Waste

About The Position

This position is responsible for the transport of solid waste from a Transfer Station to the landfill following a designated route. The driver is responsible for the safe operation, care and appearance of assigned vehicle.

Requirements

  • Transport solid waste to designated site.
  • Monitor condition of mechanical equipment and notify appropriate shop personnel of needed repairs or any operational problems including proper Pre and Post trip inspections.
  • Observe all safety guidelines and policies as initiated by the NTMWD.
  • Responsible for maintaining thorough and complete process records and logs and good housekeeping.
  • May be responsible for responding to various emergency situations as directed by supervisor.
  • Work may vary depending on task requirements and volume and may include general site cleanup.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of tools (screwdriver, wrench, etc.) and how to use them.
  • Must possess the ability to use e-mail, internet, smart phone, Tablet

  • Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current, valid, and vehicle - appropriate driver' s license of their resident state.
