About The Position

The Transport Associate safely and efficiently transports patients throughout INTEGRIS Health facilities, including to and from clinical, ancillary, and support departments. The role requires population-specific competencies and adherence to applicable National Patient Safety Goals. The associate monitors patients during transport, communicates with nursing staff and ancillary departments about patient departures and arrivals, and assists nursing staff with preparation for transport and upon the patient’s return. The role also requires following supplemental oxygen safety procedures and department policy for weekly equipment cleaning. The associate may retrieve and transport medications. The position may involve additional or varied physical demands and respiratory fit-test requirements, and exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals. Standard precautions must be followed. The position reports to the unit Manager/Department Director.

Requirements

Must be able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.

One year of customer-service-related work experience.

Responsibilities

Transport patients to and from clinical, ancillary, and support departments.
Monitor patient condition during transport and call for assistance and/or use CPR training if necessary.
Communicate with nursing staff and ancillary departments regarding patient departure and arrival.
Assist nursing staff with preparation for transport and upon return to the unit.
Observe supplemental oxygen safety procedures.
Follow department policy on weekly equipment cleaning.
May retrieve and transport medications.
Adhere to applicable National Patient Safety Goals and standard precautions.
