About The Position

NeighborHealth is hiring a full-time Direct Service Worker in its Transportation department to provide transportation services to Elder Service Plan participants and the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center. The position is based at 135 Bremen Street in Boston, Massachusetts. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with starting pay of $21 per hour. The employee must pass a Department of Transportation-approved medical examination before the hire date and complete a background check before beginning employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Massachusetts driver's license.
• Excellent driving record.
• Van-driving experience.
• Ability to move and assist participants, including some heavy lifting.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and make common-sense decisions.
• Successfully pass a Department of Transportation-approved medical examination before the hire date.
• Complete a background check before beginning employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation services to Elder Service Plan participants and the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center.
• Move and assist participants, including performing some heavy lifting.
