Vehicle Transport Associate
About The Position
The Vehicle Transport Associate safely transports purchased vehicles from customer pickup locations to designated auction facilities throughout the assigned Greater Philadelphia region. The associate reports to a designated transportation hub at the beginning of each shift, receives assignments, and travels between market pickup locations and destinations. In response to business needs, the role may also include transporting employees between operational locations, auction facilities, and vehicle pickup sites. The position works closely with Vehicle Acquisition Specialists, dispatch personnel, and auction partners to support vehicle remarketing operations. It is a field-based role suited to someone who enjoys driving and working independently within a structured, team-supported operation. Company-provided technology and tools are used to receive assignments, navigate routes, document vehicle conditions, and communicate with field and operations teams.
Requirements
- Valid state-issued driver's license.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), which must be maintained throughout employment.
- Must remain insurable under the Company's automobile insurance program.
- Proficiency using smartphones, GPS navigation, mobile applications, and electronic communication tools.
- Ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
- Ability to safely transport both vehicles and passengers.
- Ability to drive for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform vehicle inspections.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to approximately 25 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of three years of licensed driving experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous professional driving, transportation, delivery, logistics, automotive, or related experience preferred.
- Experience operating various vehicle makes and models preferred.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport purchased vehicles from designated pickup locations to assigned auction facilities.
- Inspect vehicles before and after transport and document their condition, mileage, and any observed damage.
- Verify VINs, vehicle information, and required transport documentation.
- Follow established transportation routes, safety procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Communicate assignment status with dispatch, management, and operational partners.
- Use company-provided mobile applications, GPS navigation tools, and communication systems to complete assignments.
- Complete required paperwork, electronic records, and delivery confirmations accurately.
- Transport employees between designated hubs, vehicle pickup sites, auction facilities, and other operational locations as assigned.
- Operate approved transportation vehicles professionally and safely.
- Coordinate transportation schedules and routes to support operational efficiency.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections when operating company transport vehicles.
- Promptly report accidents, vehicle issues, traffic violations, or safety concerns.
- Maintain punctuality and attendance and adhere to assigned schedules.
- Work safely in varying weather, traffic, and outdoor conditions while supporting daily operational goals.
