Transmission Planning Engineer

PG&E•Fresno, CA
•Hybrid

About The Position

The Transmission Planning Engineer provides technical support and transmission system reliability analysis to develop transmission solutions for generation interconnection studies. The work supports California’s Renewable Portfolio Standards goals and CPUC mandates and policy initiatives for generation, distributed generation, and energy storage while meeting NERC compliance requirements. The Journey-level engineer resolves problems, may receive direction from senior engineers and the supervisor, and is expected to exercise increasing independence as experience grows. The role involves coordinating with internal and external customers of PG&E Transmission Planning. It is hybrid, with work from a remote office and an assigned work location within PG&E’s service territory based on business needs. The position is represented by the Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) and is subject to collective bargaining.
