The Transitional Navigator works as part of a community-based team in the Re-engaging Teens Restoring Justice Program, which serves youth ages 14–19. The program focuses on young people who have dropped out of or are at risk of dropping out of school, are involved in or have been released from the juvenile justice system, are experiencing homelessness or food insecurity, or lack meaningful adult connections. Navigators are assigned to a focus area, which may include school-based programs, runaway and homeless youth programs, teen court or juvenile justice programs, community engagement or teen empowerment, and workforce or gun violence prevention programs. This is a full-time, 35-hour-per-week, 12-month position. The Center for Youth partners with young people to help them realize their full potential by creating opportunities, removing barriers, and promoting social justice.
