About The Position

To provide operational supervision for transit operations in Langley, ensuring safe, reliable service and supporting a unionized workforce. This role involves responding to customer service reports, conducting incident investigations, performing ride checks, communicating operational changes, and ensuring operational paperwork is completed. The supervisor will also be involved in scheduling, managing bus assignments, supporting operational continuity, leading safety meetings, and managing WorkSafe claims. Additionally, the role includes participating in training programs, supporting disciplinary actions, and developing professional relationships with operators and staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of transit industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in a unionized environment with comprehensive knowledge of the collective agreement
  • Incident investigation, WorkSafe claims, and safety compliance experience
  • Local knowledge of Langley and surrounding area
  • Minimum Class 4 License or higher
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to hold others accountable fairly and maintain professionalism in labour relations and performance management
  • Computer savvy with proficiency in Geotab tracking and operational software
  • High level of diplomacy and safety mindset
  • Commitment to customer service and team collaboration

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supervising transit operations staff preferred
  • Scheduling and training experience desirable
  • Scheduling and training facilitation skills

Responsibilities

  • Respond timely to customer service reports during the shift
  • Conduct incident investigations and reporting including M60 and WebRisk
  • Perform ride checks and monitor operations via Geotab tracking
  • Communicate detours, closures, and bus stop notices during shift
  • Ensure weekend operational paperwork and driver area upkeep
  • Fill in for weekly and daily scheduling duties
  • Manage daily and weekend bus assignments, monitor when vehicles are out of service
  • Support weekend bus assignments and operational continuity
  • Lead small group safety meetings
  • Support WorkSafe claims and safety compliance initiatives
  • Fill in for Health & Safety meetings when required
  • Issue Letters of Warning and verbal coaching for operator infractions with proper documentation
  • Participate in training programs, refresher training, and operator evaluations
  • Support disciplinary meetings and investigations as required
  • Develop and maintain professional rapport with operators and staff
