About The Position

The Transit Operator operates public transit vehicles to transport passengers to various destinations within the service area safely, on time, and professionally. The position supports Clallam Transit System’s mission to enhance quality of life, bolster mobility, and create opportunities through transit. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with CTS policy and federal regulations. The position is represented by the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 587.

Paid training is provided to obtain the required Class B Washington State commercial driver's license (CDL). The starting wage is $27.57 per hour, with scheduled annual increases for cost of living and work anniversaries. The current wage scale expires December 31, 2026, and an updated scale is anticipated.

Requirements

• High school diploma or high school equivalency.
• Five consecutive years of licensed driving experience.
• Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one.
• Meet all requirements and obtain a Class B Washington State commercial driver's license (CDL), with proper licensure, during the training period.
