About The Position

The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking to fill one (1) Training Supervisor position in the Organizational Development Division. This role involves leading and overseeing a team of Training Development Analysts responsible for the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of employee training and development programs for approximately 800 employees. The position also manages leadership and professional development initiatives to support employee growth, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness. The Training Supervisor ensures departmental training programs, policies, and procedures are administered consistently and fairly, while maintaining compliance with organizational standards and operational requirements. Additionally, this role coordinates and supports various employee learning activities and collaborates with department leadership to identify workforce development needs and improve training strategies.

Requirements

  • 24 months of experience preparing & delivering informational & instructional programs for adults using instructional design model & doing & analyzing performance needs assessments.
  • Completion of undergraduate core program in instructional design, adult learning, education, instructional technology, or related field.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications noted above.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee a team of Training Development Analysts responsible for the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of employee training and development programs for approximately 800 employees.
  • Manage leadership and professional development initiatives, including the Ohio Leadership Boot Camp and Professional Skills Inventory program, to support employee growth, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Ensure departmental training programs, policies, and procedures are administered consistently and fairly while maintaining compliance with organizational standards and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate and support a variety of employee learning activities, including CPR certification training, team-building programs, and specialized ad hoc training initiatives for divisions and work groups across the organization.
  • Collaborate with department leadership and stakeholders to identify workforce development needs, improve training strategies, and promote a culture of continuous learning and employee engagement.
