About The Position

The Training Lead is responsible for the coordination of training delivered on the production floor and for providing skills-based training to employees as needed. They will assess the training needs of employees and adapt their training style to meet those needs. The Training Lead will foster a positive learning environment by encouraging and motivating all employees. They will also generate regular reports to aid in the evaluation of training programs and learning outcomes. The Training Lead will conduct one-on-one sessions with new hires to coach them to the desired proficiency level based on individual needs. They will ensure standardized training within the department by adhering to written and electronic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Requirements

Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred.
6 months or more in a food production environment a plus.
Ability to read, speak, and write in English required.
Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
Ability to effectively respond to questions from employees, Supervisors, Quality Control Technicians, Maintenance and Managers.
Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations and perform necessary calculations for completing departmental paperwork.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
Regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Physical capacity to perform all production and production-related positions to demonstrate essential job functions.

Responsibilities

Follow all applicable safety rules and encourage safe behavior in others.
Train on all applicable safety, food safety, and quality rules.
Update Management on current training objectives and results on a daily basis.
Coordinate and provide one-on-one skills-based training to employees.
Lead by modeling desired behaviors and coach other employees to do the same.
Identify and use training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
Be open to change (flexible) and to considerable variety in the workplace.
Accept constructive criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
Facilitate a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
Test/quiz trainees to measure progress and evaluate training effectiveness.
Provide one-on-one coaching sessions with employees in the department.
Create a training plan for new hires alongside the Training Manager.
Assist in improving retention through relationship-building.
Maintain skill level in all other aspects of production for the department.
Maintain an exemplary attendance record.
Perform other duties as assigned.
