About The Position

This role is responsible for placing safety as the #1 priority in day-to-day work routines for oneself and others. The position involves working under general supervision, including digging ditches, backfilling, moving materials and equipment by hand, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting in the installation and dismantling of equipment. The individual will frequently act as a helper to Service Mechanics or Meter Repair Mechanics and must understand the purpose of and be able to use standard tools such as wrenches, stock and dies. The role requires the ability to qualify for and acquire a commercial driver's license. Additionally, the position may involve performing various routine operating duties from time to time. A key requirement is to take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs, and data from cyber-attack, damage, or unauthorized access. The job also requires the ability to perform heavy work, such as operating a compactor and jackhammer, and residing within a twenty (20) mile radius of district headquarters.

Requirements

  • High school education or its equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge of pipeline construction.
  • Minimum of three (3) months training (for Utility B).
  • Minimum of six (6) to twelve (12) months training (for Utility A).
  • Ability to qualify for and acquire a commercial driver’s license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
  • Must reside within a twenty (20) mile radius of district headquarters.
