About The Position

Battelle is seeking a Training and Development Specialist for a full-time opportunity in the greater Washington DC and surrounding area. This role supports Battelle's Infrastructure Safety and Security (ISS) business, specifically a high-profile support program for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client. The program involves a full spectrum of research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) support. The Training and Development Specialist will assist the Senior Instructor in developing course curriculum and administering courses and workshops related to DHS T&E standards and guidelines. This role requires close collaboration with DHS to implement curriculum updates and ensure training content remains current, accurate, and aligned with DHS policy.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree or equivalent credits/certifications with 5+ years of experience in training and instructional design
  • DHS T&E Level 3 certification, DAU T&E Practitioner (Level 2/3) certification, and/or CTEP (Certified Test and Evaluation Professional) certification
  • Background in adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Ability to work onsite in Washington, DC with flexibility to regularly visit customer locations in Virginia and DC.
  • Secret level clearance with ability to obtain DHS Suitability

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Senior Instructor in developing, updating, and administering course curriculum and workshops related to DHS T&E standards and guidelines
  • Collaborating with DHS stakeholders to implement curriculum updates and ensure all training content aligns with current DHS directives and T&E policy
  • Supporting the design and delivery of interactive web-based and classroom training materials using adult learning principles and instructional design best practices
  • Supporting program planning and oversight activities, including exercise development, execution, and evaluation
  • Assisting with system-level analysis and system integration support, including assessment of threats and vulnerabilities as they relate to training program content
  • Supporting technical assessment and evaluation activities to complement government technical experts in applying acquisition efforts and RDT&E toward the DHS mission
  • Communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders in both written and verbal formats, including senior government personnel
