About The Position

The Trainer supports training and development across a group of independently owned and operated Great Clips salons. The role provides technical training, certification, and ongoing professional development for stylists, working in salons as a technical coach to help stylists build their skills and confidence. The Trainer supports new, developing, and experienced stylists and helps build technically strong salon teams.

The position involves hands-on training, coaching, leadership support, and collaboration with salon managers. Great Clips describes a team-oriented environment with flexible scheduling, dependable retail hours, training and development resources, salon technology, and potential career growth. Requirements

• Hold a valid Cosmetology or Barber License; requirements vary by state or province.
• Be passionate about cutting hair and committed to continuous learning.
• Be confident demonstrating techniques and coaching others in an encouraging, supportive way.
• Have experience mentoring, training, or leading stylists.
• Have a strong understanding of salon operations and delivering positive customer experiences.
• Be organized and comfortable guiding team members at all experience levels.
• Be proud to support and deliver the Great Clips brand.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate technical training and haircut certification.
• Provide in-salon coaching, demonstrations, and real-time feedback.
• Coach stylists to strengthen their skills, confidence, and efficiency, adapting training to stylists at different experience levels.
• Support onboarding and ongoing development for new hires.
• Reinforce brand standards and operational best practices while serving as a role model for stylists and managers.
• Partner with salon managers to identify development opportunities.
• Encourage a culture of learning, teamwork, and professionalism.
• Stay current on cutting and styling techniques and systemwide training resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
