About The Position

Dent Wizard is seeking a mechanically and electronically inclined, independent, and motivated trainee to work as an Automotive Key Technician. The role involves working an assigned route of dealers and other customers to produce duplicate vehicle keys and transponders that function like the originals. Technicians maintain equipment and inventory, submit invoices and work orders, and build positive, productive customer relationships. Candidates may have prior key technician experience or complete Dent Wizard’s training course. The position includes on-the-job training with experienced Key Technicians and opportunities to advance to higher technician levels or management roles.

The position offers a stated starting compensation range of $24.00–$25.00 per hour, with commission, bonus, or profit-sharing opportunities potentially included in total compensation. The posting also describes a $24-per-hour base with the ability to earn $3–$5 for commission. Compensation depends on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical and electronic skills.
• Sales and customer service experience.
• Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently.
• Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, key duplication, and transponder programming is preferred.
• Prior Key Technician experience.
