About The Position

U-Haul is seeking a Trailer and SRI Repair Specialist to maintain trailers and Ford and GMC trucks in its fleet. The role uses U-Haul’s proprietary technology to assess and care for field vehicles. U-Haul provides tools and training, including classes from Ford, GM, and U-Haul, and offers opportunities for career growth. The position is based at 2505 Candler Rd, Decatur, Georgia 30032. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts, including working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or chemicals. Protective clothing or equipment such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields may be required. Physical demands include extended periods indoors and outdoors while stationary, moving through work areas, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving at least 50 pounds with or without assistance.

Requirements

• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Driver’s license.
• Ability to work both as part of a team and individually.
• Basic computer skills.
• Regular attendance.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of repair experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Secure trailers on lifts and dollies.
• Perform tire and brake maintenance.
• Rebuild and repair braking systems and trailer components.
• Dismount, balance, and mount tires.
• Occasionally road-test vehicles.
• Work on a production line.
• Use U-Haul’s proprietary electronic pre-inspection and repair checklist.
• Willingly assist in additional areas as necessary, following supervisor directives and guidance.
