Trailer Mechanic-AMX Leasing & Logistics
About The Position
AMX Leasing & Logistics, part of Swift Transportation, is hiring a mechanic/technician to perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on company-owned equipment, including tractors, trailers, and support equipment. Work includes inspecting, analyzing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing equipment according to applicable OEM, DOT, KNX, and other specifications. The role also includes disassembling, repairing, and reassembling heavy truck and trailer components, such as refrigerated units, diesel engines, transmissions, and axles. The mechanic may perform offsite repairs, including minor to mid-level roadside breakdowns as directed by leadership, and tire maintenance involving repairs, failure analysis, coding, and identification. Test-driving equipment may be required if certified. The role is based at 292 Brookview Rd, Statesville, NC 28625, with a Monday-to-Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The posted pay range is $23.00–$30.00 per hour, and the position is overtime eligible.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of industry-related experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Pass a comprehensive background check.
- Pass a pre-employment hair drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on company-owned tractors, trailers, and support equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance according to applicable OEM, DOT, KNX, and other specifications.
- Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform minor or complex equipment repairs.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components, including refrigerated units, diesel engines, transmissions, and axles.
- Perform offsite repairs, including minor to mid-level roadside breakdowns as directed by leadership.
- Perform tire maintenance, including repairs, failure analysis, coding, and identification.
- Test-drive equipment when required and certified to do so.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Proactively assist others in achieving organizational objectives.
